- Rare Cologne work edition in five parts, the fifth and last part in the present copy bound after the second.
The poet and humanist Battista Mantovano (Giovanni Battista Spagnoli, 1447-1516) belonged to the Carmelite order and wrote religious poems in a style inspired by Virgil.
In 1513 he became prior general of his order.
Narrow brown stain in the upper margin, this only on the first approx. 15 leaves, the first two sheets with small letter losses.
Slightly browned and finger-stained, some period underlining and marginalia , ), 4 leaves with small corner tears (without loss of text). Faded old hand foliation in the upper margin.
The last leaf of the fourth part (bound in at the end) is damp and old mounted.
