The "Pistolotti" had a first edition in 1554, edited by Marcolini for the Accademia Pellegrina, and a definitive version published by Giolito in 1558 under the title Tre libri di pistolotti .
Presented as an "inventory of love's household goods," the work includes letters, chapters, madrigals, sonnets, epigrams, and songs, some of which are previously unpublished.
