Scarce first edition of this biblical woodcut set made by Jost Amman based on drawings by Hans Bocksberger.

Oblong 8vo. Size  6 by 8"  (152 x 200mm).

Title printed in red and black, vignette with colophon,

124 woodcut illustrations in the text,

several white leaves are bound at the beginning and 27 at the end of the work

(lacking L1 and 2 folding plates from gathering C and gathering G, in the leaves p4 and q1 the text has been cut out, some stains).

18th-century paper wrappers (wrappers are in poor condition, very fragile, numerous chips and tears, partially unbound).
