- Wellcome II, 159. Vlg. Krivatsy 1206  -

A rare German translation of this frequently published Dutch work, with a dedication by Filip von Zesen to Duke Christian of Saxony, as well as a preface and epigram by the physician Joh. Mylius, here for the first time with the third part!

- The interesting engravings in the first part explain, among other things, virtues and vices on health using historical examples and illustrate the chapters on wine, beer, sugar, and tobacco (after Ostade) in a typically Dutch style.

Also worth mentioning is the German translation of Hier. Cardanus's "Praise of Gout," in the second part, nasal and eye deformities, and in the third part, the illustrations of the vascular and nervous systems.

- Beverwyck, a highly learned Dutch physician, was the first physician to publicly support Harvey.
His mother was a relative of Vesalius.

- Title page damaged.
Front hinge with old repair, and broken.

Also with partially repaired damage, last few leaves frayed, some occasional stains, toning.
Vellum worn, with spots, lacks front endpapers
