Commentaria In Tres Libros de Virginis Partu.

Venice; 1584

First edition of Cardona's commentary
Translator Ralph Nash describes Sannazaro's De Partu Virginis, a Latin sacred poem from the 16th century inspired by both the verses of Virgil and the birth of Christ, "as Virgilian as [Sannazaro] could make it.
" The original poem was circulated in manuscript for years before it was first published in 1526.
