First edition edited by Tomaso Costo (ca. 1545-1613), Neapolitan poet, classicist, and member of the Accademia della Crusca.
He used the edition of Platina that had been corrected by Onofrio Panvinio (1529-1568).
Beautifully illustrated edition with round woodcuts depicting the Popes.

The front page dedicated to Jesus Christ.

The work of Platina (1421-1481) originally appeared in 1474.
