Oppian from Corycus in Cilicia wrote the eulogy on fishing (Halieutica) and dedicated it to the Roman Emperor Aurelius and his son Commodus.
Oppian from Syria dedicated his eulogy on hunting (Cynegetica) to the Emperor Caracalla.
