Gothic type in 2 columns, illustrated with numerous woodcuts, mostly after Sebald Beham's 1533 design; Original richly blind-tooled calf with corner and centerpieces (one corner piece at the back cover is missing, another one is damaged) over wooden boards, intact clasps, skilfully rebacked, spine with five raised bands and "Biblia Sacra" label. Binding is firmly attached, toning, otherwise very good condition "In 1599 a new version of the Dutch Louvain Bible appeared in Antwerp from the press of Jan Moerentorf (Moretus), 33 years after the publisher’s father-in-law Christopher Plantin had published the previous Dutch Bible...
