Giovanni Nevizzano was a 16th- century Italian jurist , born in Asti and died in 1540.
He studied jurisprudence at Padua and Turin , where he later taught. He is the author of the first attempt at a legal bibliography , entitled Index scriptorum in utroque jure ( Lyons , 1522), continued by Gomez, Fichard, Ziletti, and Freymon;
Sylvae nuptialis , a book in which the rational and the extravagant alternate;
Consilia ( Lyons , 1559). Additiones ad Rolandinum . Quasteio de librorum multitudine resecanda . Controversiae feudales , etc.
