Second edition of this collection of sermons, including sermon number XVII (titled in the Contents as "The civilization, improvement, and conversion of the Negroe-slaves in the British islands recommended") relating to conversion of slaves,
or preaching "deliverance to the captives." "... who can forbear thinking on the unhappy race of beings, the African Slaves in our West Indian Colonies?"

The author was a Church of England reformer and a leading abolitionist.

Binding sound though with wear to extremities, small hole and subsequent repair to upper spine panel, contents clean throughout, an attractive book, Very Good.
