He attended the college in Wittemberg, obtained his doctorate in law in Leiden in 1597, settled as a lawyer in Utrecht and was shortly afterwards appointed professor in Franeker, which position he held in Sept. 1598 accepted.In 1635 he published his famous work: Decisiones Frisicae sive rerum in suprema Frisiorum Curia judicatarum libri V, which was printed several times (the 10th edition appeared in Amsterdam in 1698) and which was published in a Dutch translation in Leeuwarden in 1638 under the title of: "Vijff Boeken der gewijsder saecken voor den Hove van Vriesland".===========================

SANDE (Johan van den), born 28 June 1568 in Arnhem, son of Reinier, councilor in the Court of Gelderland, and Catharina van Reyd, died. in Leeuwarden 17 Nov. 1638.
He attended the college in Wittemberg, obtained his doctorate in law in Leiden in 1597, settled as a lawyer in Utrecht and was shortly afterwards appointed professor in Franeker, which position he held in Sept. 1598 accepted.
In 1635 he published his famous work:
Decisiones Frisicae sive rerum in suprema Frisiorum Curia judicatarum libri V, which was printed several times (the 10th edition appeared in Amsterdam in 1698) and which was published in a Dutch translation in Leeuwarden in 1638 under the title of: "Vijff Boeken der gewijsder saecken voor den Hove van Vriesland".
