The work is based on a work left behind by Christian IV's historiographer Claus Lyschander, but also includes several other materials that Resen found at the University Library (where the whole thing went up in flames in October 1728). Resen's chronicle is one of the most magnificent Danish books of the 17th century and gives an excellent impression of the ambitions Resen had for his great Danish atlas (which never came to fruition; Resen's manuscript went the same way as the University Library in 1728).As a storyteller, Resen connects Arild Huitfeldt with Niels Slange, whose great biography of Christian IV begins where Resen's work on his father ends=========================================Please see my other auctions Thank You
