The "History of the Great Tamerlane" is a historical work attributed to Sieur de Sanctyon, published in the seventeenth century (with known editions around 1677) which tells the life and deeds of Timur, known in the West as Tamerlane.
Timur Barlas, (1336 – 1405), was a Mongol warlord and the first sovereign of the Timurid empire, founded and ruled by him from 1370 to 1405.
Beautiful frontispiece engraving.
Some toning. Marginal woodworm hole at the lower outer corner up to and including the frontispiece through p. 17.
