The text exposes the "Decretum Reverendissimi Patris Ministri Generalis", where the Minister General of the Order grants the official faculty to print the volume in Paris to the famous printer Dionysius Thierry.

As it is the last decree printed chronologically on its pages, this ecclesiastical document stamps the final date of the edition. It is the authorization that gave the green light to the presses, dated and stamped in the convent of the Assumption in Paris, exactly on April 29, 1693. 

It exhibits with splendor the "Proprium Sanctorum" with specific offices for the saints of the Franciscan orders.

Highlights include the majestic Masses of the Nativity, Epiphany, Pentecost, Corpus Christi and the double rite of primera class for the patriarch St. Francis ("In Festo Seraphici Patris Nostri Sancti Francisci"), etc.


King David:
An imposing initial picture where the elderly monarch plays a giant harp to write the Psalms, inspired by cherubs.

The Nativity:
An extraordinary play of light where the radiance emanates from the Child Jesus in the manger, illuminating the Virgin and the shepherds under the song of the angels.

The Epiphany:
Superb architectural depth where the Three Wise Men prostrate themselves before the Child giving up their chests of riches.

Pentecost:
Unsurpassed dramatic tension; the dove of the Holy Spirit descends breaking the sky, pouring tongues of fire on an enthroned Virgin.

The Last Supper:
Christ at the center of a round and luminous table, blessing the chalice surrounded by the apostles in a scene of profound intimacy.

Monastic Ecstasy:
A Hypnotic Image; It shows a saint levitating in deep mystical rapture, while his astonished brethren in habit fall to their knees carrying large lighted candles.

The Celestial Glory:
An overwhelming composition of the Holy Trinity next to the Virgin Mary, presiding over an ocean of clouds filled with cherubim, saints, and martyrs.


A slightly later Propium Sanctorum probably from the eighteenth century bound in at the end of the work in addition to the Original Propium Sanctorum (corresponds to pages "71" of the pagination section).
