Ex libris with heraldic engraving of the Dukes of Hamilton glued to the frontispiece.
The coat of arms shows two antelopes as supporters, a shield quartered with galleys (lymphads), and the famous crest with an oak tree pierced by a saw and the motto 'Through,' surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Thistle with the inscription 'Nemo me impune lacessit.'
This indicates that the item previously belonged to the prestigious library of the Dukes of Hamilton, one of the most important Scottish noble families.
