The hemispherical map is based on the work of the mathematician, astronomer, cartographer, and historical geographer Johann Matthias Hase (1684-1742).

In addition to the two hemispheres, four polar maps from different perspectives and two solstices are shown.

The two title cartouches label the map in Latin and French
