Albert Dubout, born in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) on May 15, 1905, and died in Saint-Aunès (Hérault) on June 27, 1976, was a French cartoonist, poster artist, filmmaker, and painter.
His drawing is characterized by its flowing lines and caricatured characters: little gentlemen in hats, very large ladies in dresses, and scenes of boisterous crowds. It is one of the most brutal spotlights an artist has ever shone on humanity in its delirium. Don't bat your eyelashes, don't snicker foolishly to hide your stupid embarrassment at these excesses of gentlemen whose social standing, even profession, can still be discerned from their swooning faces.
